Explore Superfoods!
There is lots of talk about superfoods, what exactly are they? There are some foods which are considered superfoods because of their exceptional nutritional content. I use a few of the superfoods daily; spirulina, bee pollen, hemp hearts & wheatgrass. Over the next few days I will explore these four superfoods and tell you how you too can add them to your daily diet and get some great health benefits.- Todays Superfood is: Spirulina!
Spirulina is an algae species known as blue green algae. 1 tsp daily in a smoothie will enhance your health in many ways. Spirulina is an excellent source of protein which is completely absorbable when liquified (as in a smoothie), it enhances immune function and may help decrease some allergic reactions by blocking the release of histamine, hmmmm....I think I will be trying it this spring for two of my children who suffer terribly from environmental allergies. (the only problem with this is that it makes your smoothie dark green, kids have a strong aversion to a green smoothie, I am trying to figure out how to change that, I will let you know when I do...)Let us not forget the amazing power of antioxidants to help fight illness and disease.Sounds pretty good huh? I buy it in powder form, you can buy it bulk at a local health food store.- Todays mission: Go get some spirulina to add to your smoothie!

Mint tea is herbal. There is a great combination of peppermint green tea though (very popular in Morocco, I should send you a sample:)
